Rev Edward L. Whitehead, Pastor
Rev. Edward L. Whitehead is a pastor, scholar, writer, musician, and singer. As a
product of Chicago's west-side, Rev. Edward L. Whitehead attended Chicago
Public Schools and later, received higher education from Chicago Baptist Institute
and the Theological and College Seminary of Baltimore, Maryland where he
received an Honorary Bachelors in Theology. Not only does he currently pastor
The New Greater Exodus M. B. Church, but he also is affiliated with the Sunlight
Baptist District Association, and the National Baptist Convention USA,
Incorporated.
During the 1970's, he became the leading musician for the renowned Love Singers
that originated in Chicago, Illinois. In addition, he also played for and sang with
the Gospel Heavyweights - an assembly of God-fearing, gospel preaching pastors.
Rev. Edward Whitehead, is the loving husband, Linda Whitehead, and devoted
father of two children, Angela Mims and Stephen Whitehead. He is the proud
grandfather of two, Anthony, Jr. and China Lynn. He is an excellent pastor and
has preached God's Anointed Word for over 34 years and counting.
In November 2002, God gave Rev. Whitehead a message entitled "Snakes Among
My Sticks" coming from Acts 28: 1-6. Those who were under the sound of this
profound gospel were reminded that Christians are always under the subtle attacks
of the adversary, but that an omnipotent God empowers them with the ability to
shake them off!
